On the 22nd February, the children from Brampton Primary School took part in a sponsored walk along the Dandy Line. The children dressed as evacuees, teachers and helpers wore appropriate 1940s costume.

They’re Back! Further adventures of Pearl, Jan, Linda and Shelley as they spend some of their “Ladies Day” race winnings on a trip to Oz.

While Shelley dreams of luxury and glamour the rest of the girls decide they should go native and camp out under the stars on a trip to Uluru.

A warm welcome to Angela Findon and Keith Read-Bone, who following the advertisement of two vacancies for councillors, were co-opted to the Parish Council. At the same meeting councillors elected David Moorat to be Chairman of the Council.

Brampton Police - Parking Complaints

Brampton Police have received several complaints over the last couple of months regarding parking issues at Brampton Primary School. As well as increasing police patrols in the area at the relevant times, we are also working with the City, County and Parish Councils and the school in trying to resolve this issue in an effort to make the area safer for children arriving and leaving the School.

Volunteer Welfare Works for Royal British Legion

For a number of years now, in my spare time,  I have been the local Welfare Worker for the Royal British Legion. This is a voluntary position and details visiting servicemen, exservicemen, their wives and families who are in need of support and assistance.

Those eligible for British Legion poppy support can be briefly summarised as people who are serving, or who have served in the Armed Forces, their dependants and carers.

Lovers Lane Community Garden

Spring is almost here and work has begun on the community garden.

Help is needed with planting, digging, construction and many other jobs.

Your input and ideas are important as this is a space for the community. Come and help out on open work days which start on Saturday 9th March 1pm-4pm
